Most of our basket products are handmade from natural materials; kubu, wicker or rattan. All three are a variety of cane grown in Indonesia and some parts of Australia.
Kubu is the most common, being a robust, hardy natural material. The colour finish can vary slightly, as shown in the pictures.
In the handmade process some of the cane can crack or split. This is entirely expected particularly on the corner areas. Additionally, no handmade basket is expected to be perfectly symmetrical, it may be close but we do not expect them to be exact.
All measurements are a guide to the highest/widest/deepest point to cover protruding areas such as handles.

Product finishes can vary across a range of our products depending on the date of manufacture and the batch of production.
Products that can be affected include furniture, ceramics (coloured, glazed, natural or stone) light fittings and shades.
With furniture and anything made from wood, the finish is dependent on the wood itself. There will be varying tones within the same item and colour may vary slightly from the image shown and from piece to piece.
This is also affects any stained, treated or washed products.

Many of our ceramics are either handmade or handfinished, once produced. Ceramics can have the occasional dimple or pimple in the glaze which is part of the finishing process - this is entirely normal.
Additionally, an item that is mould made will have a join line. Some join lines are more visible than others but again this is entirely normal. It is the method of production that enables us to find great looking pieces that we can offer at great prices.

Such items maybe our handthrown lamp bases made from ceramic, cement or stone - pots, vases and ornaments made from similar materials or it could be twig hearts, wicker/willow hearts or kubu and rattan products. Blemishes can and do occur but we regard this as normal given the nature of the material the item is created from.
Lisa has always had an interest in home interiors and beautiful things.
Her work background was in banking and Lisa's interest became a little more serious in 2013 when she began buying select pieces, styling them and offering for sale online. Cowshed Interiors was founded.
The business started from home and soon grew to a point where business premises were needed. Now based just outside of Stratford upon Avon in an 8,000sq ft operation of outlet, office and warehouse.
